Feel Good Oldies and New Products Coming!
It is incredibly exciting seeing everything come together for the Holiday 2015 Release for Feel Good Scripts. We have our Feel Good favorites coming back, Turkish Mocha, Lemon Calendula, Lemon, Maluleuca, and Calendula, Green Tea Lavender, and a few new bars that are incredibly amazing. Adding to the line up we have a small batch of sulfate-free shampoos and conditioners made with beautiful essential oils. These oils combined with Feel Good ingredients creates a lather that is sulfate-free while the aromatherapy properties provide a sense of peace and calming for your showering experience...truly a DIVINE combination to go along with your special cold-process soaps.
We are also excited to release our whipped shea body butters! It takes a few hours of whipping a beautiful combination of unrefined organic shea butter with organic coconut oil, organic jojoba oil, and organic cocoa butter is truly a skin dessert dream. It melts upon skin contact and within a few moments, your skin is nourished and moisturized naturally without harmful fillers and or additives. This a the perfect pure and natural skin dessert! (Unrefined organic shea butter does have a natural "chocolate" scent)
Soap Socks
I have collaborated with a few very special and talented women who knit and crochet that make these awesome soap socks. What is a soap sock? These handmade soap wraps are usually made out of wool or a blend, that over time in the shower with use "felts." It creates a soft exfoliation factor, keeps your soap together, makes it easier to hang dry with the drawstring after use, and it also creates a lush lather with any remnants of soap that you have otherwise too small to use. Genius!! A few of these amazing handcrafted items will be available after Thanksgiving and make a wonderful addition to your special cold-process soap.
What is a SULFATE?
The bubble in most bubble baths, liquid soaps, shampoos, bubble bars, detergents in more come for SLS, or sodium laurel sulfate. It is a chemical detergent, filler/additive, and foaming agent. The American College of Toxicology has reported that concentrations as low as 0.5% can cause irritation, and higher concentrations are linked with skin corrosion. SLS has also been linked to increased dryness of the scalp and skin due to its stripping nature of taking natural protective oils away with use overtime. I want my customers to be aware of what they are using on their skin, scalp, hair, and bodies. Again, I was shocked to read that most of the products I used on my own children contained ingredients I could not pronounce, known fillers, and additives that were linked to inflammation and irritation. It has been my goal from the beginning to keep all of the Feel Good products as simple and pure as possible. I use mainly unrefined and organic ingredients, and absolutely no sulfates. The lather from the soaps are made from a natural reaction made by a cold process soap making method. Please see the website under frequently asked questions for more about this process.
What is SLSA (Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate)?
The name looks the same as the SLS, but it is 100% naturally derived from coconut and palm oils. It has a different profile than SLS and is known for its lathering nature, mildness, and cleansing abilities without stripping the skin from precious protective oils. FEEL GOOD SCRIPTS uses SLSA in our bubble bars which creates beautiful SULFATE-FREE bubbles and are a great natural alternative to those who love bubble bars but don't love the added chemical detergent.
